Could it be possible that delicious desserts which are A- healthy and B- super easy to make, actually exist? I’ve got one word for you… YES!
I have tried many healthy and raw desserts, and I do love them, but often I find, as delicious as they can be, they do actually taste healthy and can be quite complicated to make with an endless list of ingredients. Those who know me, know that I can only make REALLY. SIMPLE. RECIPES.
So here it is… The easiest, healthiest and most delicious Apple Crumble Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
BASE:
- 5 apples of your choice (I used pink lady in this recipe)
- 2 heaped tablespoons rice malt syrup
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Generous sprinkle of cinnamon (about a teaspoon)
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 heaped tablespoon of almond meal (or your desired flour)
CRUMBLE:
- 1 cup of rolled oats
- 1/2 a cup of almond meal
- 2 heaped tablespoons of rice malt syrup
- 1/4 cup of melted coconut oil
- Generous sprinkle of cinnamon (about a teaspoon)
METHOD:
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
- Thinly slice the apples and lay them in a baking dish.
- Add the lemon juice, rice malt syrup, and cinnamon and roughly stir so that the apples are covered.
- Mix the almond meal (or flour) with water and add to dish. Stir once again and make sure apples are fairly evenly spread over dish.
- Mix the crumble ingredients in a bowl until combined and then spread over the top of the apples.
- Place in the oven and bake for 45 – 55 mins.
- Serve with your choice of cream, yoghurt, ice cream or custard.
- Enjoy!
