I recently had the most luxurious stay at The W in Seminyak Bali. My husband and I actually had our honeymoon there seven years ago (Cannot believe we have been married for seven years!) For the lover of fine things, slightly quirky and an appreciation of attention to the finest of details, The W is one of the most exquisite places I have stayed.
Whimsical
The W owns a fantasy vibe with a touch of magic. From the mile long entrance covered in a canopy of soft velvety trees, to the daily afternoon tea of every cake you could possibly think of, displayed in a gorgeous “Alice in Wonderland” theme. The W adorns the most stunning artworks, bold and colourful, with bright coloured lights at night. It certainly feels like you’re in a movie.
Wind Down
What is the main purpose of a holiday for you? Relaxing and winding down usually tick a box for most people. From the massages, to the abundance of day beds, inviting outdoor lounges, so much space and people at your beck and call to service all your needs including cocktails, poolside massages, cleaning your sunnies (yes, you read right – the staff actually walk around and make sure your sunnies are finger print free!), there is no other option but to wind down and relax during your stay at The W. The service is next level.
Wellness
These days it’s important for a lot of people to consider their wellness when holidaying. We all love to indulge, but if you lead a healthy lifestyle, its also important to maintain some of that balance whilst on holidays. I love to stay at resorts and hotels which have a gym and offer yoga or tai chi sessions. The W has both. The Away Spa at The W is possibly one of the chicest spas I’ve ever seen. Treatments for skin, muscles and full body, as well as beauty, hair and make up. You can chill out in the “chill bar” which has a private indoor pool and detoxing lounge. You will emerge like a new person. So refreshed and rejuvenated. This is pampering and pure luxury at its finest.
Wheels
The W is humungous which is so luxurious and allows it to be quiet and peaceful. The enormity of The W makes you feel like you are only amongst a small few others staying there. If you are staying in one of the private villas, which I stayed in with my family, and also if you leave the resort for shopping etc, being so grand, there are buggies ready to drive you and pick you up at your request. Wow.
Well Fed
Whether you are fine dining in one of the W restaurants, or indulging in the daily breakfast buffet, you will be swept off your feet with how delicious, how fresh and how vast the variety of food is at The W. The assortment of options is endless. You can pile your plate full of every sweet – cakes, croissants and pastries, even lollies and chocolate fondue. Or you can visit the health station and be more than satisfied with wheatgrass shots, healthy juices, protein smoothies and tropical fruits. Request your own design of a hot breakfast or omelette. Include sliders or seafood. The list goes on. And this is just the breakfast buffet!
